This article presents analysis and modeling of routing problems encountered in GMPLS communication networks. We explain how MPLS-like protocols and optical networks change the classical routing issues. Moreover, we consider QoS (Quality of Service) constraints, the multilayer structure of the network and securing aspects, which allows to anticipate and react to failures. Several non-linear models to represent these various aspects, and leads on methods to solve them, are proposed.
